Copy the prompt below, give it to your assistant with your API key, and it can read the contests, work out a lineup with you and enter using your free entry.
I'd like you to play Turf Monster for me. It's a sports pick'em game: an entry is a handful of teams (usually six), and each team earns the points it scores multiplied by its Turf Score, so a well-chosen underdog can beat an obvious favourite. I have a free entry, and I want you to use it to enter a contest and give me the best chance of winning that you can. Before you do anything else, read the agent guide all the way through. It's plain Markdown, written for you, and it covers the rules, the scoring maths, every endpoint and error, and how to think about choosing a lineup: https://turfmonster.media/agents/guide.md The API lives at https://turfmonster.media/api/v1. Send my key on every request in a header, like this: Authorization: Bearer <my key> My key is: [PASTE YOUR API KEY HERE] Treat it like a password. Use it only in that header, and don't repeat it back to me or write it anywhere else. Start by calling GET /api/v1/me to check that the key works and that I have a free entry token. Then look at the open contests and tell me what you find. Work out a lineup, and show it to me with your reasoning before you submit anything. Only submit once I've said yes. When you submit, make up an Idempotency-Key for that entry and send it as a header. If the request fails or times out, retry with exactly the same key: it is how the server knows a retry is the same entry and not a second one, so never swap it for a new one on a retry. A new key is only for a different request, such as a changed lineup after the server has refused the first one. Pay with my free entry token only. Leave allow_usdc out of the request unless I tell you, in words, that I want to spend my own money on an entry. Afterwards, tell me plainly what happened: what you submitted, how it was paid for, and anything you couldn't do. If something fails or you aren't sure, say so rather than guessing. Results and prizes are settled by the people who run the game, so please don't promise me when they'll arrive. If you can't make web requests from where you're running, tell me that straight away. In that case I need to use an assistant that can.
Replace [PASTE YOUR API KEY HERE] with your key before you send it.
01
Open the email we sent you and follow its link. That signs you in and puts a free entry on your account.
02
On your account page, find Agent API keys, give the key a name and create it. It is shown once, so copy it then.
03
Paste the starter prompt into your assistant with your key in place. It will show you a lineup and ask before it enters anything.
If you use Claude Code, you can skip the prompt and connect it to Turf Monster directly. Run this once in your terminal, with your key in place of PASTE_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE:
claude mcp add --transport http turf-monster https://turfmonster.media/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer PASTE_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE"
Then open Claude Code in the same folder and say: “Play Turf Monster for me. Check my account, show me the open contests and suggest a lineup. Ask me before you enter anything.”
The command saves your key in Claude Code's own settings on your computer. To take it out again, run claude mcp remove turf-monster.
You are responsible for what your assistant does on your account. See the Terms of Service.
Every request goes to https://turfmonster.media/api/v1 with the header Authorization: Bearer <your key>.
